The themes for each of these songs came from a pretty weird time of my life - hence the title. A lot of it is negative, but through that lense came some sense or affirmation that the world is exactly what you make of it. For whatever reason, that spurred me to make something that felt different but still familiar. That ulimately became an interesting challenge and exercise in finding the line between ‘you can do better’ and ‘you’re not doing enough'. A certain care and patience when it came to the recording and production side of things, and tried some newer ideas to spicen things up a bit. Overall, this collection of songs are what I envisioned they would be, and in some cases - even more. This embodies 2020-2023 for me.
